Quantitative skills in the workplace

Before Christmas, the Office of the Chief Scientist released the reports from the Quantitative Skills in 21st Century Workplaces project which was undertaken by AAMT with the Australian Industry Group.

These reports are available on the AAMT website, but of particular interest might be the Quantitative Skills Map which identifies the actual mathematics involved in the workplaces investigated.

Maths Inspiration, one of the largest maths enrichment programs for teenagers in the UK, is coming to Australia! It’s a chance for 15–17 year olds, even those who aren’t really ‘into’ maths, to experience three of the UK’s most entertaining maths speakers live, presenting mathematics in the context of exciting, real-world situations. 14–15 May 2015
