Students at Canobolas High School enjoy a quality learning experience and success in academic, sporting and cultural endeavours. Our community encourages safe, responsible, respectful learners within a culture of integrity.

The school has an enrolment of 660 students, including approximately 28% Aboriginal students.  The school receives funding to support student learning outcomes through the Resource Allocation Model. Improvement in the areas of literacy and numeracy are a major focus for the school. The school shows strong growth in both literacy and numeracy. The school has a strong focus on academically talented programs for students across all key learning areas. A high performance athletes program called Canobolas High Performance Athletes Program (CHPA) is also a fundamental feature of the school. A strong student welfare structure exists within the school and this is managed by a committed learning support team. A curriculum collaboration called e2 between the five public secondary schools provides the broadest choice of senior subjects. It is based on the principle of Every Student, Every Opportunity, Every Day. The school has an extensive transition program with its local primary schools. The school also has strong links with the Western Institute of TAFE and Charles Sturt University and is well supported by industry in the delivery of a full range of accredited vocational education and training programs. The school prides itself in forming productive partnerships with parents and the wider community. We work with the community to establish a shared focus on student engagement in learning as we know that this will lead to improved student retention and higher educational achievement.
