We are very excited to bring our award-winning* Engineering Link Project back to Sydney, and we are proud to be associated and sponsored by Transurban and Western Sydney University. The workshops are perfect for Year 10, 11, and 12 students. This unique opportunity to work directly with engineers and university staff will help participants make informed decisions about engineering, and confirm if it is a career path they wish to pursue.

When: Friday 25 October 2024 (8.30 to 4.00 pm)

Registration is FREE. Students can nominate as individuals or as a group through their school (Teachers – please contact us for group registration information). Students bring their own lunch.

Students participate in two different engineering workshops, designed to challenge their problem-solving skills through demonstrating creativity, knowledge, and teamwork.

A professional engineer will outline their career and what a day in the life of an engineer is, then present a problem or scenario that needs a solution. Testing materials, completing design calculations, and submitting a proposal are all key components of the process. If approved, students will. The engineer will evaluate each solution against the criteria and provide constructive feedback.

Throughout the day, participants can speak to and work with visiting professional engineers and ask them plenty of questions. This unique opportunity provides valuable insights into the life of an engineer.

Students will also experience Western Sydney University Engineering by working in their labs and getting a feel for university life. This is worth the price of admission on its own.

Registration is from 8.00 am and the event starts at 8.30 am. The event concludes at 4 pm.

It was the best experience that I have ever had. It has made my future engineering pathways clear.

I was considering engineering as a career, and this event provided deep insight into the world of engineering and also showed how much fun engineering can be
