Attention New South Wales STEM Teachers and Students
Experience STEM @ UTS!
TELG is very pleased to advise that our University of Technology Sydney (UTS) workshops are now open for registrations. We are very grateful to UTS and TransGrid for their continued support.
Teachers:
The first event is our (BOSTES accredited) Linking Engineers and Scientists with Teachers Professional Development workshop on June 23 and 24. Following on from the extremely successful event in 2014, this year’s workshop is bigger and better, with a variety of presenters covering all areas of STEM (or as many as we can fit in!). Each of the workshops is designed to show how these areas of engineering and IT can be directly related to high school curriculum and participants will leave with an array of new ideas, resources and techniques they can use in their classrooms immediately.
- Scatch Programming (IT)
- Mechanical Engineering and Motor Sports
- Power and Electrical Engineering
- Renewable Energies
- Biomedical Science
- Mathematics using Mathematica
- and more

Students:
The third Engineering Link Project at UTS also promises to be bigger than previous events, with a wider variety of engineering and IT projects for students to choose from. Open to Year 10 and 11 (and 12 if they wish) students, an ELP is a two day experience where students complete two different, day-long engineering project, under the guidance of a professional engineer. In 2015, projects in disciplines such as:
- Electrical and Power Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Computer Systems Engineering
- Structural Engineering
are being planned.
Places are strictly limited. Click here to download a flyer, or to get more information or to register, click here.
