China – here we come!
16 Excited Australians heading to China!
Students are gathering, teachers are getting organised – it is all systems go for the 2014 trip to China. We’ll be leaving on Sunday 30th (tomorrow at time of writing) and arriving in Nanchang late that evening.
We’ve got a great program ready for the students. They’ll be learning aspects of civil, mechanical and geotechnical engineering, all under the banner of Railway Engineering. Then we’re off to Xian, then an overnight train to Beijing. One of the highlights of the trip will be the high-speed train trip from Beijing to Shanghai (upwards of 300 km/h for 4 hours!) It is a railway engineering trip, after all! We’ll also do two trips on the Mag-Lev in Shanghai, before we return home on the 13th December.
Oh, we’ll also visit the Great Wall, the Terracotta Soldiers, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Bund, …. the list is endless! How exciting!
There’ll be regular updates via this blog, so stay tuned.
