Proudly hosted by CQ University, this is our twentieth year in Rockhampton.

Despite everything that is happening, we are very grateful to CQUniversity, the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Engineers Australia for their continuing support.

This year, we have made some changes to our traditional format, in order to provide an exceptional engineering experience while ensuring that all relevant and required COVID-19 conditions are met.

For 2020, the Engineering Link Project will be a one-day event for Year 10, 11 and 12 students who are interested in finding out what engineering REALLY is!

Everyone will participate in two half-day workshops in different engineering disciplines. Each workshop is designed to challenge your creativity, your knowledge of the maths and science you are learning at school, and introduce you to the engineering paradigm.
A professional engineer will outline their career and what a day in the life of an engineer is, then present you with a problem or scenario that you will have to solve in teams. You will test materials, complete design calculations and submit a proposal. If approved, you will construction your solution. The engineer will evaluate each solution against the criteria and declare the winning team.

Students can choose from up to 4 different disciplines over the two sessions, providing a unique and valuable insight into this exciting career.

During the day, students will also experience CQU Engineering, working in their labs and getting a real feel for university life.  This is worth the price of admission on its own.

From outside Rockhampton?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide accommodation options for our participants this year. However, we are hoping that because the experience is only one day. families can make a day of it in Rockhampton.
