We are proud to continue to be associated with QUT, Engineers Australia, and The Queensland Government, and are excited to present the Engineering Link Project for 2023.

The Engineering Link Project is a one-day event for Year 10, 11, and 12 students who are interested in finding out what engineering REALLY is!

Students will participate in two workshops in different engineering disciplines. Each workshop is designed to challenge your creativity and knowledge of maths and science, and introduce you to the engineering paradigm.

An engineer will outline their career and what a day in the life of an engineer entails, then presents you with a problem or scenario that you will have to work through as a team. You will test materials, complete design calculations, and submit a proposal, just like a real engineer. If your proposal is approved, you will construct your solution. The engineer will then evaluate each solution against the criteria and declare the winning team.

Participants can choose from up to 8 different activities, each providing unique and valuable insights into this exciting career.

At lunchtime, participants will have the opportunity to speak to visiting engineers in small groups, in our Speed Talk Session. This opportunity is unique and provides valuable insights into the life of an engineer.

Students will also experience QUT Engineering by working in labs and getting a feel for university life.  This is worth the price of admission on its own.

Registration is from 8 am on Saturday 25th March at The Cube, P-block, QUT Gardens Point Campus. The event starts at 8.30 am and concludes at 4 pm.
