Junior Secondary Science Series
Junior Secondary Science Series
Course Two: Beyond Science Content
4 x 90 minute sessions; 1 session each Term
Webinars – Online seminars from your own computer
STAQ is providing these webinars to teachers of Junior Secondary Science, and teachers of upper primary may also be interested. You may be interested if:
* you would like some fresh ideas for teaching beyond science content
* you are unsure how to include “Science as a human endeavour”, science literacy and science inquiry skills into your lessons.
* you are a secondary teacher who specialises in subjects other than science and are adding Science to your teaching repertoire
* you are a primary teacher transitioning to a secondary setting
Each session will provide teachers with a model of how to address the webinar topic (science literacy, science inquiry skills or science as a human endeavour) in their classrooms and resources. By the end of the session you will have confidence to address the areas beyond content in the curriculum.
The webinars will provide teachers from all over Queensland, including regional and rural areas, the opportunity to participate.
Please note, one week prior to each webinar, registered participants will be emailed details of any equipment, computer programs or other preparations required for effective participation during the webinar.
